What are my rights under Good Faith Estimate Law?
Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage of the “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges for care.
Trouvaille will actively strive to provide this at or near the beginning of all new treatment programs for new clients. By law, you have the right to receive this information within 1 business day of your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider for an estimate before service. However, given that an intake session is required to identify the underlying therapeutic problems and thus provide a good faith estimate, this may be difficult to provide. We will of course do our best to provide what we can based on best practices. If extenuating circumstances cause us to forget, you have the right to remind us of this duty and we have the obligation to provide it to you. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is a mistake and we will correct it promptly.
The “Good Faith Estimate” is an estimate of the total costs of the overall care. Due to the nuances and fluidity of therapy, this can be very difficult to project. Nevertheless, we will work to provide accurate estimates so that you can make an informed decision that is in your best interest.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
