Private workshops are customized to needs of the group or individuals.
Our horses:
America’s Mustang
Many of the horses and burro on our team were once wild. The mustangs and burro that we partner with were adopted by the Kerr family from the Bureau of Land Management. Did you know there are still thousands of mustangs roaming in the west? Many of these horses no longer have the resources to thrive in the wild. We aim to bring awareness to America’s Mustang and encourage adoption for those fit. Please visit www.blm.com/whb
Why partner with horses?
Equine Paradigm is unique even amongst other equine assisted therapeutic programs in that many of the horses that participants will engage with will be previously wild mustangs. Participants may feel a connection with mustangs knowing that the mustangs also learned to trust and engage through the development of a trusting relationship
Equines are prey animals and have developed an increased awareness of their environment, including the “humans” they interact with. With our horses being mustang’s, their survival instinct may be higher than horses that were born domestically. This increased awareness allows them to provide feedback tailored to each individual and allow for increased insight of one’s self.
Individuals that may have a difficult time developing trusting relationships with people will often connect with equines in response to their non-judgmental and compassionate nature.
